It is a rainy Sunday morning and the house is quiet EXCEPT for the only early riser in the family - Kenny. Kenny wakes up by 6:30 every morning. The girls never got up this early, not since they were waking every 4-6 hours to eat.
Anyway, yesterday I took Katie and Lexie to the Discovery Museum and then to Olive Garden for dinner. I have decided that a Childrens Museum is a great place to teach your child how to 'take care of themselves". Lexie and Katie were playing in the Silver Diner area - I was sitting in a booth waiting for service perusing the menu when I hear a screach come from the 'kitchen'. I look over to see Katie on the verge of tears, a small scrunchy faced little girl with perfect pigtails, a pressed dress and shiney shoes and Lexie looking very 'big sister'. Apparently the scrunchy faced girl took Katies plate that she had been piling high with food for me. Katie screached and Lexie came to her rescue, telling the girl to 'GIVE IT BACK OR I AM GOING TO TELL YOUR MOTHER'. Scrunchy face ran over to her mom and told her a 'big' girl yelled at her and was being mean. With that the perfectly couffed woman walked into the kitchen and asked who yelled at her daughter. I started to rise from the booth (not an easy feet, it is meant for a 4 yr. old) only to watch Lexie stand up and say that she did because her daughter was being mean. If she is going to be mean she is not allowed to play with us!! With that Lexie looked over at me to see if she was in trouble. Ms. perfect hair took her daughters hand and walked away. Score one for the good guys!!
I am so proud!!
