A little sad
So Kristin and the chicklets are nearly off on their New England adventure...and I'm a little sad. I have that 'not sure what to do with myself' feeling..I'm sure i'll be fine..but i do not look forward to walking into an empty house tonight. I tend to wander around a while, making noises that makes it seem like someone else is there....(without scaring myself)...tv on, radio, talk on the phone...something that makes it seem less empty..until I go to sleep with no one to snuggle with...I'm just gonna miss them a lot...but I have fabulous organizational plans to get to work on...where to begin!???? The Easter Bunny will be bringing organization and decluttering to our house this Easter! just need a few shots of caffeine and I'll be ready to GO!! wish me luck! I hope all you Olsen girls have lots and lots of fun and I promise to be there next time!!!!!!!!! xoxo

Getting Ready & remembering.....
Can't wait to get up to Mass & NH.
Lexie asked if we could move up there so that she could be around her cousins. "It would be like having a big brother and lots of little brothers and sisters." I reminded her that she can spend summers up there if she ever wants, just to let me know and I'll clear with the reservation specialists in New England.
Can you believe that Cody is graduating from HS?????? When did that happen?? On the day he was born I had moved to Long Island four days earier, my hair was shaved on the sides and I was 30 pounds lighter. I was driving a little red geo storm and was wearing short skirts (above the knee) and t-shirts when ever I felt like it, not just for work. I didn't know how to pay an electric bill and I could fill my gas tank for $11, on Long Island. I smoked but cigarettes were only $2.50 a pack and I could actually drink more than two beers without feeling buzzed.
Wow, how things have changed......

Just cause
OK, just need a reality check -
We are at the park - why is there always one mom who is a door mat for their child and make the rest of us suffer for it? I don't get it.
I am standing by the slide with my 15 month old peanut perched precariously on the top (the slide is about three feet long) trying to push himself down. He loves to get himself started, he thinks it is the funniest thing. Anyway, while the peanut is at the top of the baby slide this child, who I will refer to as 'the door', runs to the slide and starts climbing up from the bottom. Kenny is still trying to push him self down - its hard to get started with a full diaper - and this child is climbing up towards him. I step in and tell the 'door' that she needs to back down or my child will end up hurting her because he is coming down the right way. Peanut has now succeeded in starting to slide and 'the door' is still climbing. I now have two options - get to the Peanut and stop him while allowing this obnoxious child to continue to climb or let Peanut bash into her, probably sending her backwards down the slide on to the dirt spot in the mulch at the end of the slide. Turns out I didn't have a chance - the 'door' grabbed Peanut by the feet in order to help herself climb up the slide - Peanut, being on the downward slide, was no help in her quest so they both went flying down the slide. Peanut ended up laying down on the slide with his feet hanging over the edge and kicked the girl in the face - he thought it was very funny. The 'door' proceeded to start screaming bloody murder and saying that my Peanut kicked her and wouldn't let her use the slide.
Enter the 'mat'. Ms. Mat, who was standing five feet away from the slide watching the whole thing take place walked over to the 'door' and picked her up and proceeded to tell her that the little boy was rude for hurting her and that his mommy would punish him for being so mean. Enter Momzilla (me). I picked up Peanut and told the little girl that she needs to use the ladder to the slide and not go up the wrong way - I told Ms. Mat that she needs to remind her daughter to wait her turn and not be a nasty child for telling lies when we all watched what she did. Ms. Mat told me that her daughter was on the slide first (weren't you little 'door', sweety) and that the mean boy needs to be taught how to be a big boy. I told her that until she taught her daughter how to use the playgroup correctly that she should keep her home so more children don't get hurt. I told her that the police don't like it when they have to be called because an out-of-control child is running amok on the play ground with the parent watching.
Enter Mr. perfect weekend father - Mr. pwf comes over and tells Ms. Mat that his son has had several run ins with the 'door' and that it was time to teach her how to play with children correctly and use her manners. With this the 'door' kicks Ms. Mat so she is let down from her arms and runs off directly towards the geese nest. There is a sign warning people to beware of the geese due to the nest in the area - they get pretty mean. Mr. pwf tells Ms. Mat that she may want to get her child before the geese get her. We all turn around to see 'door' standing in the middle of a group of geese who are hissing. Ms. Mat takes off running to save the 'door' and Mr. pwf thanks me for doing something he has wanted to do for weeks and I take my peanut and Chiclets to get some ice cream.
What's up with that?? (not the ice cream part, you know what I mean)

I'll post pictures but T-Ball was great. Lexie, who played 3rd base, went after every ball and Katie didn't move at all unless she was asking for hot chocloate or walking off the field to tell me her nose was cold.
They got up to bat three times and ran the bases each time. Katie choose not to touch second base at all, it is faster to run from first to third is a straight line, just in case you weren't sure. They had their helmets for batting (Katie pink, Lexie blue) and both have a hole in the back for pony-tails. Lexie needs one but Katie not so much, however if you have a place for a pony tail you need to have a pony tail in your hair. We may need to get extensions for the next game. We will miss a few games while we are in the New England area but when we get back - it should be a bit warmer so they won't need to wear sweat pants UNDER their very large baseball pants. Katie could pull her pants over her cleats - 'look Mommy, this will keep my feet warm'.
Pictures will follow - they both did great!!!
Kenny just wanted to wander around and was doing everything possible to squeeze himself through the holes in the fence so he could be in the dugout with his sisters. Pushing, pulling, grunting, banging - nothing seemed to open the fence holes any larger. It is hard to be 15 months old!! For the last few days he has been doing face plants on the wood floors. I guess he hasn't learned yet that you need to put your hands out if you are falling - of course it doesn't help much that he usually has some sort of food product in his hands as the time. Once the head starts to fall it just pulls the rest of the body over = not much time to react. SAVE THE FOOD.
Can't wait to go up North in a few days. It will be interesting, this is my first 6 - 8 hour trip with the kids by myself. Bathroom breaks will be my favorite - I am sure of it!!!
